Expert Review

Investing in the right extended warranty can not only save you thousands on repairs, but also give you peace of mind when on the road. ASC Warranty has been in the market for several years now, but are they a good choice to go with?

Today, we are going to look at what a ASC extended warranty covers, what it costs, and real-world reviews from ASC customers.

OVERALL IMPRESSION

What Is An ASC Extended Warranty?
An extended warranty offers protection for your vehicle after your factory warranty has expired. Extended warranties come in many different forms including budget-friendly powertrain coverage up to bumper-to-bumper exclusionary coverage. Many third-party providers are going to offer a few different plans in between to allow you to find the exact coverage you need at a price point that you can afford.

What Does The ASC Warranty Cover?

ASC offers 4 different coverage plans to choose from, all of which include roadside assistance and rental car allowance as an additional perk.

Drivetrain “Plus” Coverage

Drivetrain “Plus” coverage protects all of your powertrain components such as the engine, transmission, and drive axle assembly. You’ll also receive 50% coverage on parts and labor for your water pump, alternator, starter, and voltage regulator. Many opt for this coverage plan when looking for affordable options that cover major parts. Drivetrain “Plus” coverage also includes 24-hour roadside assistance along with rental car allowance to overcome any hiccup on the road.

Platinum Drivetrain

ASC’s Platinum drivetrain coverage offers similar protection as Drivetrain ‘Plus,” but with extended coverage for more cooling and electrical components. With Platinum Drivetrain, you’re covered on most of your vehicle’s factory installed air condition system components. 24-hour roadside assistance and rental car allowance is also included in this coverage.

Deluxe Coverage

Moving into the more exclusionary coverage plans, the deluxe coverage covers all of the parts listed in Drivetrain plus, as well as your factory air conditioning components, front suspension, steering, brakes, cooking, fuel delivery, and electrical systems. ASC provides a full list of covered components for each system on their site for you to reference. You will get 24 hour roadside assistance and rental car allowance with this plan.

Factory Type Coverage

If you are wanting the same type of coverage that your original manufacturer’s warranty provided, ASC’s Factory Type coverage is the way to go. Since this plan covers so many parts, it’s easy to see what this warranty doesn’t cover. ASC provides a list of items not covered by your agreement to let you know exactly what will not be approved in a claim. This plan is the most expensive, but it is also the most exclusionary. You will get 24 hour roadside assistance and rental car allowance with this plan.

How Much Does An ASC Extended Warranty Cost?

The cost of an extended warranty from ASC Warranty depends on what coverage level you go with. Other factors such as the type of car you have and how many miles your car has will play a role in what the overall cost will be. Most extended warranties fall in the $1,000 to $2,500 area depending on what is offered with them.

Each plan from ASC also comes with a $0 deductible, meaning you will not have to pay anything upfront for your warranty repairs. Plans with $0 deductibles may cost more up front, but that is to offset what other plans may charge as the deductible.
