Expert Review
When the factory warranty expires on your vehicle, your protection for failed factory parts lapses. This leaves you having to pay out-of-pocket for the repair bill in the event one of your factory components needs to be replaced. With an extended warranty, you can get coverage for these components to save thousands on car repair bills.
Today, we are going to look at what a Zurich extended warranty covers, what it costs, and real-world reviews from Zurich customers.
OVERALL IMPRESSION
What Is A Zurich Extended Warranty?
An extended warranty is breakdown protection that you can purchase for your vehicle once the factory warranty expires. This type of warranty allows you to keep the same level of protection, or select component protection for years after your factory warranty period. Most also come with additional benefits like 24-7 roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement, and road trip interruption coverage.
Zurich offers a wide selection of protection plans to choose from ranging from Rental Plus, a plan that offers only roadside assistance and other great services, up to a fully comprehensive coverage that protects just about every part of your vehicle.

What Does The Zurich Warranty Cover?
Let’s take a closer look at the 6 different coverage plans you can choose from with Zurich:
Rental Plus
The rental plus extended warranty does not have any specific component coverage, only supplemental amenities. With this plan, you receive roadside assistance, trip interruptions, and rental car coverage. Each plan comes with this coverage, but if this is all you are wanting for your vehicle, Zurich makes it easy and affordable with the Rental Plus plan.
Powertrain
Covering your powertrain components such as the engine, transmission, and drive axle assembly, Zurich’s Powertrain plan is a budget friendly option that offers reliable protection. This plan is perfect for keeping your cost low, while still getting protection for some of the most expensive repairs your car may need.
Standard
Landing in the middle of the price spectrum on Zurich’s lineup of coverage plans, the Standard plan is their basic coverage plan.. This plan gives you protection for everything included in the Powertrain plan, but will also include the suspension, brakes, steering, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
Preferred
Taking a step up from the Standard coverage plan, Zurich’s Preferred plan is going to give you protection for more of your vehicle’s components. This plan will include coverage for each component in the Standard plan, with additional coverage for the cooling system and some interior and exterior coverages as well.
Comprehensive
For those who are wanting the best coverage available for their vehicle, Zurich’s Comprehensive coverage plan is the best choice. This plan covers every component on your car with the exception of cosmetic damage, torn upholstery, broken glass, and tires. This is going to be the most expensive option, but it will cover the most components on your vehicle.
Select
Zurich’s Select coverage plan covers cosmetic damage, tire damage, and alloy wheel damage. It is going to be fairly affordable as it’s component coverage list is very low, so if these couple of items are things you want covered, the Select plan is for you.
How Much Does A Zurich Extended Warranty Cost?
There are a few different factors that affect the overall price of your Zurich extended warranty. The coverage level you choose, the type of vehicle you have, and how many miles are on your vehicle are just a few of the factors Zurich takes into consideration when configuring your extended warranty quote.
Some Zurich extended warranties will require a deductible, so it is important to note which plans will and will not require one. A deductible is a price that you will pay toward your repair before the warranty pays out the rest. For example, if your deductible is $50 and your repairs are $300, you will have to pay $50 while Zurich pays the remaining $250.
How Do I Get A Zurich Warranty?
While you cannot purchase a Zurich extended warranty through Zurich America, you can purchase it through one of their participating dealerships. You can ask your dealership or call Zurich to find out which dealerships offer these extended warranties.

Where Can I Take My Vehicle For Repairs With A Zurich Extended Warranty?
If you are needing to take your vehicle in for warranty work, there are some restrictions on where you can take your vehicle.
