Expert Review

ProGuard offers new and pre-owned car warranties through dealer partners nationwide. They provide day one coverage for pre-owned vehicles, so you have an extended warranty coverage the day you buy your used car. For newer cars that are still under manufacturer’s warranty, coverage begins upon expiration of the factory warranty.

All ProGuard contracts are fully insured by A-rated insurance companies who A.M. Best considers excellent in financial strength and their ability to pay claims.

More About Extended Warranties

Extended warranties, also known as vehicle service contracts, are protection plans that provide coverage for various components on your vehicle once your factory warranty expires. Depending on the provider, they can be purchased from dealerships or third-party providers such as ProGuard. Extended warranties come in various coverage levels ranging from warranties that cover only your powertrain components up to exclusionary coverage. Not only can an extended warranty save money on repairs, but they often come with additional perks such as roadside assistance, rental coverage, and trip interruption coverage.

Purchase

Every extended warranty company offers various levels of coverage to give you the best coverage for the price you pay. This will usually vary from 2-6 different choices, depending on the company you go with. With ProGuard, you will have 5 different levels of coverage to choose from. Let’s take a closer look at the levels to see which is going to fit your needs.

ProGuard 1

Proguard 1 is the first level of coverage offered and will be similar to your basic powertrain warranty. This extended warranty is considered ProGuard’s limited liability warranty and covers the part cost and labor or transmission, engine, and differential repairs. ProGuard 1 is ideal for those looking for coverage at an affordable price point.

ProGuard 2

ProGuard 2 is the next step up from the ProGuard 1 warranty and includes the same great powertrain coverages. In addition to this coverage, you will also get protection for your cooling system, fluids, and turbo/supercharger for most vehicles all the way up to 150,000 miles at the time of purchase. Roadside assistance and towing are included with this extended warranty.

ProGuard 3

Moving on to more mid-range coverage, ProGuard 3 covers all of the components in ProGuard 1 & 2, plus a few additional components. With this plan, you get protection for your vehicle’s braking, cooling, electrical, fuel, and steering system on most vehicles up to 150,000 miles. It will also cover many advanced electrical parts that are usually costly to repair. Rental car reimbursement and 24/7 roadside assistance come with this warranty to help keep overall costs down.

ProGuard 4

Moving on to ProGuard 4, like previous levels, the 4th level of coverage includes all of the coverage from levels 1,2, and 3. In addition to covering all of the components, you receive advanced drivetrain protection, more electrical system coverage, and coverage for fuel injectors and cruise control systems for vehicles up to 125,000 miles. To add on, you will also be protected on highly used interior and exterior items as well as a wide range of sensors. Roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement, and trip interruption are offered on this plan as well.

ProGuard 5

If you are wanting total protection for your vehicle, ProGuard 5 is the ideal protection plan for you. This plan will mirror the manufacturer’s basic factory warranty minus just a few exclusions such as wear and tear items, safety items, and emissions items.

How Much Does A ProGuard Extended Warranty Cost?

One of the main reasons that extended warranties are purchased is to save money during the time of ownership of your vehicle. Extended warranties can help save you up to thousands of dollars in some instances, so having an extended warranty usually pays off during your term.

Since each extended warranty is different, there is no universal cost associated with them. You will need to talk to your provider to get an accurate quote based on the factors that affect your extended warranty cost. This usually includes the level of coverage you choose, what type of vehicle you have, and the number of miles on your vehicle.

Where Can I Take My Vehicle For Repairs With A ProGuard Extended Warranty?

When it comes to getting warranty work done on your vehicle, an extended warranty is going to dictate where you are able to get approved work done at. With most dealership-backed programs, you will have no choice but to take it to one of their dealerships. With a ProGuard extended warranty, you can take your vehicle to any of their in-network preferred service centers. You can contact ProGuard to find a service center near you.

How Do I Get A ProGuard Warranty?

If you are interested in purchasing a ProGuard warranty, you’ll need to locate a dealership that offers their extended warranties since ProGuard does not sell directly to customers. Contacting ProGuard to find your nearest dealership that carries their warranties will be the easiest way to find one.
