Expert Review

Toco Warranty is a comparatively new player in the extended warranty market, having been around since 2012. This company aimed to revolutionize the automotive warranty market by introducing a month-to-month subscription plan, thus significantly lowering costs for consumers and allowing them to manage their warranty expenses as if they were utility bills. Toco Warranty also implemented efficient systems for their claims process and a responsive customer support team to address long-standing reported issues with these topics.

The cornerstones of Toco Warranty allowed them to foster a culture of care and problem-solving in the community and has earned them top ratings in the extended warranty market. Toco Warranty also offers Toco at Work, which enables companies to provide vehicle breakdown coverage as a part of employee benefits in an effort to enhance the recruitment process, ensure employees can address car issues without financial stress, and build important partnerships with companies around the country.

Payment for a Toco Warranty plan will vary depending on the package you are considering and the age of your vehicle, but all plans will have the month-to-month payment offering that Toco Warranty is known for.

To offer examples, quotes for a 2020 Toyota Corolla under the Orange plan came in at just $38 per month for 48 months, whereas a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox under the Blue plan came in at $80 per month due to 48 months. Compared to other warranty company options on the market, when prices are broken down into equivalent monthly payments, Toco Warranty comes in as cheaper than a vast number.

Naturally, Toco Warranty offers many enticing reasons to consider signing up for a plan, but it’s important to ensure you consider all the benefits and potential drawbacks. The standout benefits of a Toco Warranty plan include:

  • Month-to-month coverage options are available for your needs
  • The ability to cancel your coverage at any point
  • The access and ability to use any licensed mechanic for repairs
  • Overwhelmingly positive reviews online with an A+ BBB accredited business rating and few reported issues

However, as with any extended warranty provider, there are some drawbacks you should keep in mind before making your decision. The most notable of these include:

  • Plan is assigned based on your vehicle’s mileage, so you don’t get to choose your plan
  • Toco Warranty is not available in California, Arkansas, Washington, Wyoming, or Missouri
  • The waiting periods before getting connected to a representative are a little murky
  • You need to connect directly with a representative if you want to get a quote

Whether the benefits of Toco Warranty outweigh the drawbacks is a personal decision, but their month-to-month structure and cheaper price point certainly make them a competitive option.

As opposed to offering bumper-to-bumper coverage, powertrain coverage, or some other more specific types of plans, Toco Warranty offers coverage based on your vehicle’s mileage. These plans are broken down into four main subcategories:

  1. Orange Level: 0K-100K miles
  2. Yellow Level: 100K-150K miles
  3. Blue Level: 150K-200K miles
  4. Green Level: 200K-250K miles

The Orange and Yellow Levels are designed to offer more coverage than the Blue and Green Levels, as your car is younger for all intents and purposes. The baseline inclusions on both the Orange and Yellow Levels are:

  • Engine
  • Transmission
  • Drive axle
  • Transfer case
  • Turbo/supercharger
  • Electrical
  • Cooling system
  • Air conditioning
  • Fuel system
  • Technology and modern features

There are additional covered parts specific to each of the two plans, so refer to this inclusion list to see the extra coverage levels. Also, reference the exclusions to see what is not covered with each plan. The Blue Level offers the same base coverage options as the Orange and Yellow levels but far fewer extra coverage items. The Green Level, designed for older vehicles, removes the electrical, cooling system, air conditioning, and fuel system from its base coverage.

As for the corporate side of Toco Warranty, there are three plans to consider: Powertrain, Plus, and Premium. Each plan offers a range of coverage from simple high-level stated protection under the Powertrain plan to near bumper-to-bumper coverage with the Premium plan. Corporate plans under Toco at Work are applicable to vehicles with less than 150,000 miles and will also come with towing, rental car access, and roadside assistance benefits.

It’s worth noting that for all Toco Warranty plans, if you want your plan to stay active, then you need to follow the maintenance requirements of your vehicle, as outlined by the manufacturer, and keep a copy of all service records.

Post-sale

Based on all the data above, Toco Warranty presents many viable options for car owners seeking reliable coverage and competitive pricing in 2025. With various plans tailored to different needs, Toco Warranty caters to a wide range of vehicles and budgets.

If you aren’t sold on Toco Warranty, though, consider reviewing our comprehensive list of top extended warranty providers to see if there is an option available that can meet your unique needs. Don’t settle for staying unprotected on the road today.
